Registration troubleshooting

Open the complete link from the original message. If entering a code manually, copy it exactly and avoid leading or trailing punctuation from the message.

An unrecognized code can also mean the host is already registered. Select Back to login and try the existing username or password-reset process. If that does not work, ask site management to confirm the host record, registration status, and correct invitation code.

Do not post the invitation link or code in a public support message.

TEKControl says the account is already registered

Use Back to login. Sign in with the username displayed by TEKControl. If you do not know the password, use the password-reset option rather than asking for another registration code.

If the displayed username belongs to someone else or is no longer accessible, contact site management so they can verify ownership before changing the account.

The email addresses do not match

Clear both email fields and type the intended address again. Although uppercase and lowercase differences are accepted, spelling, punctuation, and the full domain must match. The address becomes the account's sign-in username.

The email is invalid or the user already exists

Use a complete email address such as name@example.com. If TEKControl says the user already exists, that email is already a username in TEKControl and cannot be used to create another account.

Try signing in or resetting the password for that address. If the existing account should be connected to this host record, contact site management instead of registering under an unrelated email.

The password is rejected

Make sure both password entries are identical, then follow the policy displayed in the error. Site policies can require length, letter case, numbers, special characters, no spaces, or avoidance of restricted words.

Type the password manually in both fields if a password manager filled different values. Never send the password to support or site staff.

Account creation returned to login or stopped before contact setup

First try signing in with the new email and password. If sign-in works, the account was created; use Profile Settings to complete phone numbers and notification preferences.

If sign-in does not work, do not repeatedly create accounts with different emails. Contact site management with your name, property or host identifier, invitation delivery time, and the exact on-screen message.

The contact-preferences page returns to login

That page requires the signed-in session created during registration. Sign in with the new account. You can complete the same information from Profile Settings if the registration step no longer opens.

A phone number is rejected

Remove formatting characters the field does not accept and enter digits with an optional leading +. Confirm the number is in the correct phone-type row.

If TEKControl reports that only one directory number is allowed, leave Directory? selected on exactly one nonblank phone row and clear it on the others.

A notification option is missing

Notification choices depend on site modules, the host's account type, and the notification types permitted for that host. A hidden option cannot be enabled from registration. Ask site management if you believe your account should have it.
