Use a visitor ePass

A TEKControl ePass is a secure link sent for a specific visitor and visit. Open it before arrival, review the visit details, and present its current QR code to security at the entrance.

Open it on the device you will bring

Open the complete link from the original email or text message. When the pass type is configured for Single device, the first phone and browser that open it become the approved device.

For a single-device pass:

  • open it first on the phone you will carry to the site;
  • use the same browser every time;
  • avoid private or incognito browsing;
  • do not clear that browser's cookies or site data;
  • do not open the link first on a work computer or another person's phone.

TEKControl uses a secure browser cookie and a protected browser-storage value to recognize the device. It does not use those values to expose the QR credential to other websites.

Complete payment when required

Some pass types charge the visitor. The pass displays Payment required, the amount, and Pay Now before showing the QR code.

Select Pay Now, verify the amount, enter card information only in the secure payment control, and wait for payment to finish. Keep the pass page open. After successful processing and finalization, the page replaces the payment state with the active pass.

Never put card information in notes, email fields, screenshots, or messages to the host. See Card payments for payment-window guidance.

Confirm the pass details

When ready, the page can show:

  • visitor name;
  • pass type;
  • valid-from date or time;
  • valid-through date or time;
  • host name and address;
  • pass code or PIN when the site allows it;
  • security mode;
  • site-specific arrival notes.

Contact the host before arrival if the visitor, host, address, or validity period is wrong. The public page cannot edit the visit or extend the pass.

Present the QR code

At the entrance:

  1. Open the pass in the same browser.
  2. Keep the page visible and increase screen brightness.
  3. Present the QR code to the guard or scanner.
  4. Follow any site notes and identity-verification instructions.

If Refreshing QR appears, the code changes automatically every 30 seconds and the page displays a countdown. Present the current on-screen code; an old screenshot may no longer scan. Keep the page open until security completes check-in.

The displayed PIN or pass code, when present, can help authorized staff locate the pass, but it does not bypass the site's admission and identity checks.

Protect the ePass

Treat the link, QR code, and PIN like a temporary access credential:

  • do not forward the message;
  • do not post or share screenshots;
  • do not let another visitor use it;
  • report a lost phone or exposed link to the host or site security;
  • close the page after the visit if the site instructs you to do so.

An active QR code does not guarantee admission. The pass can be inactive, expired, denied, already handled, or subject to additional security review.

Use only the pass issued for you and the current visit. Security may verify your identity, vehicle, destination, and visitor status before admitting you.
