Review detected events

Review the complete row before treating a detected event as actionable. Camera data, optical plate recognition, and directory associations can each be incomplete or incorrect.

Review the image

Click the thumbnail or choose Image from the row menu. The viewer enlarges the stored image but does not modify or remove it.

Compare the visible plate with the detected Plate Number. Also confirm that the image belongs to the expected lane or camera and is clear enough to support a correction or enforcement action. If no file or embedded image exists, the image action and thumbnail are absent.

Interpret the speeds and time

Compare Violating Speed with Speed Limit; they are recorded values, not the calculated difference. The event timestamp is converted to the selected site's time zone.

Confirm that the configured camera limit was appropriate for the location and time. A high reading alone does not establish that the detected plate belongs to the pictured vehicle.

Interpret Plate Association

TEKControl compares a readable plate with records at the selected site. Associations can display:

  • [H] for a host vehicle;
  • [V] for a visitor, optionally followed by the associated host;
  • a vendor name;
  • Multiple Visitors when the plate matches more than one visitor.

Host matches take display priority, followed by visitor and vendor matches. A blank association means no matching active record was resolved; it does not mean the vehicle is unauthorized.

Review citations and repeat activity

The Citation column can show the citation ID, type, and associated visitor or host. A blank value means no citation is linked to that event.

Total Count is the number of events for the same normalized plate within the current site, date, and filter scope. It changes when the scope changes and should not be treated as a lifetime total.

Choose Notes to read existing event notes. Notes are read-only from that dialog; site administrators can update them as part of an audited plate correction.

Warning

Plate associations are lookup results, not identity proof. Similar plates, stale vehicle records, temporary vehicles, and shared registrations can produce misleading associations.
