Filters and insights¶
The transaction grid and the insight cards can intentionally use different scopes. Confirm both the filter choices and Apply filters to stats before comparing their totals.
Filter the transaction grid¶
Open the additional filters to use:
- Site — limits all results to one site;
- Location — limits results to an interface, panel, or supported controller location;
- Reader — limits results to a reader at the selected location;
- Access Granted / Access Denied / All — groups the supported access-result event codes;
- Transaction Type — limits results to one exact event type.
An exact Transaction Type takes precedence over the broader granted/denied choice. Clear the exact type when you want the full group of granted or denied events.
Select Apply or Refresh to reload the grid. Reset clears location, reader, exact transaction type, and restores Access Granted without changing the selected site. Review the main search and date fields separately after resetting.
Understand the insight cards¶
The cards summarize total transactions, after-hours activity, granted versus denied results, peak hour, and top locations. They load independently from the grid and may briefly show a loading state.
By default, the cards show a general 30-day summary for the selected site. They do not follow the grid's search, date, location, reader, or event-result filters.
Select Apply filters to stats, then apply or refresh, when you want the cards to use the current grid date range and supported filters. The associated-person and credential searches can be applied to the cards. A free-text transaction-type search is not used by the cards; use the exact Transaction Type selector instead.
Tip
For an investigation, first narrow the grid to the required period and access point. Then enable Apply filters to stats if you need metrics for that same slice of activity.
Interpret time-based results¶
Transaction dates and filter boundaries use the site's configured time zone. The after-hours card treats activity before 6:00 AM or at or after 8:00 PM as after-hours. The peak-hour card identifies the busiest hour within the card's current scope.
If expected records are missing, broaden the date range, clear the exact transaction type, choose All results, and verify the selected site, location, and reader before refreshing.
