Correct plates and take action¶
Use row actions only after reviewing the event image, camera, speed values, association, and current operational policy.
Correct a plate number¶
Choose Edit Plate, enter the verified plate, and provide required Notes explaining the evidence and reason for the correction. Saved plate values are trimmed and converted to uppercase. You may clear the plate only when the image supports treating it as unreadable and your process permits that correction.
If neither the plate nor notes changed, the dialog closes without an update. Otherwise TEKControl:
- updates the speed event;
- writes an audit entry containing the old and new plate and the notes;
- refreshes plate associations and the grid;
- updates the vehicle registration on a linked citation when the plate changed;
- adds citation history explaining the speed-detection override.
Important
A correction can affect both the speed event and an existing citation. Review the linked citation afterward and follow the formal correction process if it has already been delivered, adjudicated, or paid.
Create a citation¶
Create Citation appears only when the event has no linked citation and the selected site has the Citations module enabled. The citation form starts with:
- the detected plate;
- the camera name or stored location;
- a matching host when found;
- a matching visitor and host when exactly one visitor match exists.
Revenue is skipped by default for a citation created from Speed Detection. Complete the required citation type, status, description, dates, and other evidence according to the normal citation process. Saving links the new citation back to the speed event.
Correct an inaccurate plate before creating the citation so the prefilled registration and association are based on verified data.
Add the vehicle to the Watchlist¶
Add to Watchlist appears when the event has a plate and the site has the Watchlist module. Confirming creates a new site-owned vehicle Watchlist entry with:
- the current detected plate;
- Vehicle type;
- a description identifying Speed Detection and the user who added it;
- the adding user's email as the notification destination.
This action creates a new entry; it does not search for or update an existing Watchlist entry. Before confirming, search the Watchlist for the plate and correct the detected value if needed. After creation, an authorized administrator should complete the reason, response guidance, associations, image, and notification settings.
Know what is not available¶
Speed Detection does not delete source events from this page. Preserve the original event and audit trail; use plate correction, citation history, or the organization's support process when data requires further remediation.
