Complete a custom form¶
Select Add New to create a record or open an existing row to review or edit it. The dialog title identifies the configured form.
Work through every section¶
Sections appear either as separate cards on one page or as tabs. Review every visible section before saving, especially when using tabs where required fields can be outside the current view.
Fields can be limited to particular sites. The visible form is rebuilt for the record's site, so two sites can show different sections or fields from the same form definition.
Complete supported field types¶
A form can contain:
- short text fields;
- long text or notes;
- dropdown choices configured by an administrator;
- date-and-time fields, optionally defaulted to the current time;
- checkboxes;
- signature-image uploads;
- labels that provide instructions or section context.
Required text, dropdown, date/time, notes, and signature fields are validated when you save. A validation message lists missing fields; move through all sections, complete them, and save again.
Scan an ID¶
When ID scanning is enabled, select the ID-card action and scan the supported driver's license. TEKControl can map the returned first name, last name, full name, birth date, address, city, state, ZIP code, license number, and expiration date into fields configured for those values.
Review all populated values against the physical ID. Scanner mappings fill fields but do not guarantee that the scan was read correctly.
Upload a signature¶
For a signature field, select Upload Signature and choose one image file. The preview shows the image that will be stored. If the signature is required, a usable image must be present before saving.
Confirm that the image belongs to the current record and does not contain unrelated sensitive information.
Save or review¶
Select Save to create the record or update its existing field values. The dialog closes after a successful save and the list refreshes.
View-only users can open records but the Save action is disabled. Custom Forms does not provide a delete, approval, or per-record history action in this screen; follow your organization's process if a saved record needs administrative correction or removal.
Important
Saving an existing record updates its stored values. Verify the site and record identity before editing, particularly when the form contains personal information or a signature.
