Speed Detection

Speed Detection is the site-administrator workspace for reviewing speed events received from the site's Traffic Logix-enabled cameras. It combines event evidence, plate associations, citation status, repeat activity, and operational trend cards.

Understand access and scope

The page requires site-administrator access and the Speed Detection module. The site selector contains active, assigned sites with that module enabled. If only one site is available, it is selected automatically and the selector is hidden.

All grid events, camera choices, associations, and statistics are scoped to the selected site. Times display in that site's time zone.

Understand the grid

Each event can show:

  • detected plate number;
  • associated host, visitor, or vendor;
  • Traffic Logix camera name;
  • source ticket ID;
  • configured speed limit;
  • detected violating speed;
  • event date and time;
  • linked citation details;
  • total occurrences for the same plate in the current result scope;
  • plate-image thumbnail.

Events initially sort newest first. Total Items reports the number matching the current filters. Click an image thumbnail or choose Image from the row menu to enlarge the evidence. See Review detected events.

Use row actions

The three-dot menu shows only actions supported by the event and enabled modules:

  • Image when image evidence exists;
  • Notes when notes exist;
  • Edit Plate to make an audited plate correction;
  • Create Citation when no citation is linked and the Citations module is enabled;
  • Add to Watchlist when a plate exists and the Watchlist module is enabled.

Filter, analyze, and export

Search by plate, camera, ticket, speed, or association and refine the results by date, camera, citation, repeat count, and detected speed. The trend cards can remain on their standard 30-day scope or use the selected filters.

Important

Automated plate and speed readings are evidence for review, not a substitute for verification. Inspect the image, camera, recorded limits, plate association, and local enforcement policy before correcting data or taking action.
