Host administration

Host Administration is the central workspace for managing residents, tenants, employees, or other people treated as hosts by a site. From this dialog you can find host records, add a host, open an existing host, and apply controlled actions to multiple selected hosts.

Host changes affect other workflows

Host identity, property, status, contact, directory, visitor, notification, and access information can be used throughout TEKControl. Confirm the site and host before saving or applying a bulk action.

Before you begin

You need access to General Administration for the selected site. The fields and actions shown depend on your role, whether the site is residential, its enabled modules, and whether host records are managed by an external integration.

Finding hosts

Use Search by to choose the type of information you have, then enter a partial or complete value in Search. The results refresh as you type.

Common search choices include host name, address or lot, phone number, email address, vehicle registration, and vehicle year. TEKControl adjusts the search field for values such as phone numbers, email addresses, and years.

Advanced filters

Open the filter area to narrow the grid by:

Filter Use it to find
Registration Registered or non-registered hosts
User account Hosts with or without a TEKControl user account
Residency Resident or non-resident hosts at residential sites
Primary/Family Primary hosts or family/household members
Status Hosts with a configured lifecycle status
Type Hosts assigned to a configured host type

Primary Hosts is the normal default. Switch to Family/Household Hosts when the person is attached to a primary host instead of being the primary record.

Select Apply after changing advanced filters. Select Reset to clear them and return to the normal primary-host view.

Add a host

  1. Select Add New.
  2. Complete the required identity and classification fields.
  3. Review the host's properties, notifications, and related records.
  4. Save the record.

See Add or edit a host for field guidance and the recommended sequence.

Edit an existing host

Open the host from the grid, then work through the relevant tabs. Review the host's name and primary property before changing status, directory settings, notification preferences, permissions, or access-related information.

Refresh the grid

Select the refresh icon when another administrator, import, or integration may have changed records while the dialog was open. Refreshing does not clear the current search and filters.

Select multiple hosts

Select hosts in the grid to enable Bulk Actions. Confirm the selected count before continuing. Bulk actions can update many records and may also affect family members.

See Bulk actions before applying a change to multiple hosts.
