Family and related records¶
Related tabs keep household and operational information attached to the correct primary host.
Family members¶
Add a family or household member from the primary host's Family tab. Enter the person's identity and relationship, then configure only the capabilities they should have.
Depending on site configuration, permissions can include:
- Using visitor, E-Pass, or party-event workflows
- Editing visitors beyond those created by the household member
- Viewing or editing primary-host details
- Receiving announcement, visitor, package, or scheduling notifications
Review these permissions carefully. Relationship describes the person; it does not automatically determine what they should be allowed to do.
Vehicles¶
Search existing vehicles before adding one. Record an accurate registration/plate and state, along with useful make, model, year, color, status, and notes. Vehicle information may support LPR, parking, access, citations, patrol, and visitor verification.
Access credentials¶
Confirm the credential belongs to the selected host before changing its number, format, type, active dates, access groups, use limits, or status. Physical access updates may require a controller synchronization before they take effect at a reader.
Out of town¶
Record away periods with accurate start and end dates and operationally useful notes. Avoid overlapping active schedules, and expire old schedules so staff do not act on stale information.
Pets¶
Add identifying and care details that help staff recognize or safely handle the animal. Keep warnings factual and current, and do not duplicate unrelated host notes.
Key management¶
Use Key Management to track keys connected to the host. Verify the key identifier, description, issue/return state, and related notes according to site policy.
Set a family member as primary¶
Changing the primary host is a significant operation because TEKControl transfers property associations, post access, vehicles, pets, keys, and other household relationships between records. Confirm both people and review the household after the operation completes.
