Host notifications

Notification preferences determine which events TEKControl attempts to deliver by email or SMS. Delivery also requires valid contact information, enabled services, and any required SMS consent or opt-in.

Announcements

Enable email or SMS when the host should receive site announcements and alerts through that channel. Turning off both can prevent the host from receiving important notices.

Visitor updates

Visitor events can be configured independently:

  • Arrival
  • Departure
  • Denial

Choose email, SMS, both, or neither for each event. High-activity hosts may receive many visitor messages, so enable only the events they are expected to monitor.

Packages

Enable the channels the host uses for package notifications. Confirm the saved email address or mobile number before enabling delivery.

Scheduling

Scheduling confirmation options notify the host about visitor schedule activity. Keep these aligned with the site's visitor workflow and the host's responsibilities.

Troubleshoot a missing notification

  1. Confirm the relevant notification option is enabled.
  2. Verify the event actually occurred for the correct host.
  3. Confirm the email address or phone number is current.
  4. For SMS, verify the phone format and applicable consent or opt-in state.
  5. Check whether the related site module and delivery provider are enabled.
  6. Collect the host, event type, destination, and approximate event time before contacting support.

Note

Saving a phone number or email address does not guarantee delivery. Provider status, invalid destinations, suppression, consent, and site configuration can still prevent a message.
