Associations, watchlists, and images

An LPR transaction can be linked to more than one related record. The Association column combines those matches into a compact description.

Read association labels

The labels identify the matched record type:

  • [W] — watchlist entry;
  • [H] — host;
  • [V] — visitor, or multiple visitors when the read represents a visitor group;
  • [VEN] — vendor vehicle and vendor name;
  • [VEH] — host vehicle.

Vehicle descriptions can include year, make, and model. A blank association means TEKControl did not link the read to any supported record at the time it was processed.

Recognize watchlist transactions

Watchlist matches are highlighted in red in the association and license-plate columns. Use Watchlist Transactions to isolate them.

A red row identifies the recorded watchlist flag; it does not by itself describe the required response. Follow your site's watchlist procedures and verify the plate against the image before taking action.

Compare the read with the image

The License Plate column contains the characters returned by the LPR system. Select the thumbnail to inspect every image stored for the transaction.

When reviewing a possible mismatch:

  1. Compare the plate text with the clearest stored image.
  2. Confirm the camera, post, and transaction time.
  3. Check visually similar characters such as 0 and O, 1 and I, or 5 and S.
  4. Review the association and watchlist highlight independently from the recognized text.
  5. If no thumbnail appears, the transaction has no retrievable stored image in this view.

Important

Recognition text and associations are evidence from the transaction, not a substitute for visual verification when responding to a watchlist alert or disputed access result.
