User administration¶
User Administration manages staff and other TEKControl login accounts. Access requires the User Administration permission, and every administrator is limited by their own role level, client and site assignments, and protected-role authority.
Understand the user grid¶
The grid displays each visible user's first name, last name, username, email, roles, last login, and active status. Last-login times are converted to the browser's time zone; the dedicated login-audit dialog labels its entries in UTC.
Use the plus button to create an account. Double-click a row or open its three-dot menu to edit when permitted. Other row actions can include:
- Disable User;
- Reactivate User;
- Permanently Delete;
- Login Audit; and
- Change History.
Actions are limited by role hierarchy. You cannot bulk-manage your own account or a user whose effective role level is equal to or higher than yours. Some protected roles can be assigned only by specifically authorized administrators.
Choose the right workflow¶
- Use Find and filter users to scope the grid and export.
- Use Add or edit a user for profile data, credentials, and invitations.
- Review Roles, assignments, and modules before changing access.
- Use Bulk actions for a carefully reviewed selection.
- Use Lifecycle and audit to deactivate, reactivate, delete, or investigate an account.
Warning
User changes affect authentication and authorization. Verify the person's identity, business need, role level, sites, posts, and modules before saving. Use least privilege and your organization's approval process.
