AllBox device overview and identity¶
Use Overview to identify the endpoint, associate it with the correct operational and hardware context, choose its device modes, and maintain common screen text.
Device details¶
| Field | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Name | Required administrative name. Use a unique physical-location name such as North Gate AllBox or Front Lobby Kiosk. |
| Device identifier | Identifier used by the deployed endpoint or integration. It is optional in the form and has no uniqueness validation, so copy it from the authoritative device record. |
| Post | Required operational post. It controls the site's context and can affect relay, Virtual Agent, visitor, logistics, reporting, and other workflows. |
| Primary menu option | Initial or principal action presented by the device. Choose only an action configured and enabled on its corresponding tab. |
| Access reader | Optional access-control reader associated with the device. Confirm the physical entrance and direction. |
| Video camera | Optional camera associated with the device. Confirm its view covers this endpoint or entrance. |
The post selector initially shows Select a post. Always choose a real post: the placeholder itself may not be caught by the required-field check before the save reaches the server.
Primary actions include Directory, Directory Code, Access PIN, Visitor Access, Concierge, Remote Guard, New Visitor Wizard, Visitor Checkout, Static Image, Logistics Wizard, additional concierge or relay actions, Quick Entry, Web Browser, and Virtual Agent.
Warning
Incorrect post, reader, or camera associations can record activity under the wrong location, expose the wrong video, or make an access action target the wrong entrance.
Device mode and defaults¶
- Is AllBox? identifies an AllBox endpoint.
- Is Lobby Kiosk? identifies a lobby self-service deployment.
- Is TEKControl Desktop? identifies the desktop application mode.
- Enable Visitor ID Card Scan? enables ID scanning in supported visitor workflows.
- Print Visitor Pass on Admit? requests pass printing during admission where a printer and workflow support it.
- Enable host video calling makes supported host video-call behavior available.
These flags are not mutually exclusive in the editor. Enable only combinations supported by the installed device and the intended workflow.
Screen messaging¶
Main menu screen text appears on the main experience. Access granted title and Access granted body control the success message after access is approved. Keep public wording concise, accessible, and free of internal instructions or sensitive data.
Enable debug mode is intended for troubleshooting and can expose extra operational information. Disable it after support testing. Disable splash screen bypasses the normal splash experience; test startup and recovery behavior before using it in production.
Save or delete¶
Save validates the entire record, not only the visible tab. Name and post are required. Numeric communication and integration fields and the Twilio caller ID can also block saving even when you are on Overview.
Creation, updates, association changes, image-menu changes, and deletion are audited. Deleting an existing record requires confirmation and has no undo action. Reassign or retire dependent hardware and integrations before deletion.
If the Virtual Agent settings fail after the main record saves, the dialog reports that partial result. Treat the AllBox record as saved, reopen it, and correct or retry the Virtual Agent configuration separately.
