Central stations

Central Stations defines a monitoring or call-center destination, its SIP connection and dialing rules, owning client, and the sites it covers.

Open General Administration, locate General System Administration Settings, and select Central Stations.

Warning

These settings can redirect live calls or prevent them from connecting. Coordinate changes with the central station, telephony owner, network team, and affected sites.

Connection details

Field Guidance
Name Required recognizable station name.
SIP Username / Password Credentials supplied by the SIP service. Store and share through approved secret-handling processes.
SIP Domain Exact registrar, proxy, or provider domain.
SIP Min / Max RTP Port Media-port range allowed by the station and network.
SIP Protocol TCP or UDP; new stations default to UDP.
SIP Transport Port Signaling port; new stations default to 5060.
Station Identifier Integration identifier. The editor rejects a value already used by another station.
General Prefix / Suffix Digits or routing tokens placed around applicable dialed values.
Dialing External Prefix Prefix used for external destinations.
Time Zone Required IANA time zone; new stations default to America/New_York.

The editor validates Name, Time Zone, and Client, and checks Station Identifier uniqueness. It does not validate that the Station Identifier is nonblank, that ports are numeric or ordered, that the SIP endpoint is reachable, or that credentials authenticate.

The SIP password is shown in a normal text field. Protect the screen from shoulder-surfing and do not paste the password into tickets, screenshots, or documentation.

Assign ownership and coverage

Select a required Client. Region and Branch are filters that narrow the Sites list; the selected client is also stored as the station's owning client.

Choose every accessible site covered by the station. Site labels include client, region, and branch context when available. There is no form validation requiring at least one site, so a station can save with no coverage.

When an existing station is saved, all previous station-site rows are deleted and recreated from the current selected sites. If the site-assignment step fails after the central-station record saves, connection details may be updated while coverage is incomplete.

Warning

Site selections can remain cached while moving between station records in the same open dialog. Close and reopen Central Stations before editing a different station, then verify every selected site before Save.

Safe change workflow

  1. Record the current SIP, dialing, time-zone, client, and site values.
  2. Confirm the intended endpoint and firewall or NAT requirements with the provider.
  3. Close and reopen the dialog for the one station being changed.
  4. Make the edit and verify every site selection.
  5. Save and reopen the station.
  6. Test registration, signaling, audio in both directions, transfer, timeout, and fallback behavior.
  7. Review Phone Call Logs or Remote Guard Diagnostics for the controlled call.

There is no Delete or Disable action in this form. Coordinate station retirement so sites are reassigned and dependent routing is updated before backend cleanup.
