Audit history¶
Audit History is the read-only administrative change trail. It records supported create, update, delete, assignment, unassignment, and specialized actions with their source, actor, timestamp, and summary.
The default date range is the last 30 days. Entries are initially ordered newest first and loaded in pages; Total Items reflects the complete filtered count.
Site audit history¶
Select a site in General Administration and choose Audit History from the selected-site actions or administration actions. The dialog includes supported audit events whose stored site is the selected site.
Use this view to investigate changes across site settings, modules, posts, AllBoxes, hosts, logistics configuration, access-control objects, cameras, Smart Tours, visitor settings, contacts, and other site-associated sources.
An item merely related to the organization is not guaranteed to appear in a site audit. Its audit event must have been recorded with that site or be included by a more specific record-history scope.
Client audit history¶
Select a client in General Administration and choose Client Audit when that action is available. The dialog includes supported events whose stored client is the selected client, including client settings, client contacts, and client-level configuration.
Client Audit is not automatically a roll-up of every event at every site belonging to the client. Use the individual Site Audit when the expected change was site-scoped.
Record change history¶
Some administration grids provide Change History or Audit History for a selected user, host, AllBox, or access controller. This narrows results to the selected record type and identifier.
Host Change History is intentionally broader than one host row. It can include related household or child-host records, phones, family members, pets, vehicles, vacations, custom fields, property assignments, keys, profile images, linked user data, and associated access credentials when those relationships can be identified.
Other record-specific histories normally match that record's exact entity type and identifier. A change to a separate related record may therefore appear in the site history rather than the selected record's history.
Filter the history¶
| Filter | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Search | Matches the stored summary, source label, technical source type, or action type. |
| Source | Limits results to one available record type, displayed with a friendly name. |
| From / To | Includes complete calendar days from the start date through the end date. |
The source choices are derived from the audit sources available within the current site, client, or record scope. A source with no events in that scope does not appear.
Search does not inspect the displayed user's name or every Old Value and New Value in the change details. If a person or changed value produces no result, filter by source and date instead, then review the rows.
Interpret the grid¶
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Date | Event time converted to the event site's time zone; events without a site time zone display a UTC suffix. |
| Action | Friendly form of Created, Updated, Deleted, Assigned, Unassigned, Evacuation Sent, or another stored action. |
| Source | Friendly record type and a recognizable entity label when available. |
| User | Recorded creating user, displayed last name first. Blank means no user was attached to the audit event. |
| Summary | Stored or generated explanation, sometimes including an identity and change count. |
Sort by Date, Action, or Source. User and Summary are not sortable in this view.
One-field changes are normally explained directly in Summary. When an event contains more than one change, select the eye action or double-click the row to open Audit change details. Events with zero or one detail do not show the details action.
Warning
Audit History does not provide Undo or Restore. For a correction, open the current record, verify the intended value and authorization, save through the normal workflow, and retain both events as the history of the correction.
